The Lyceumers ready for fifth annual battle
The much-awaited 5th annual Cricket Encounter between Lyceum International School, Panadura and Lyceum International School, Nugegoda hosted by the Panadura institute, for the Nikitha Grero Challenge Trophy, will be held from 9.00am on Monday, February 24 at the De Soysa Stadium in Moratuwa.
The Nikitha Grero Challenge Trophy Cricket encounter commenced in 2015 intending to provide students of Lyceum with the unique big match experience and promote team spirit, bringing to reality the vision of Nikitha Grero, the Chief Visionary Officer of the Lyceum International Schools Network
Cricket is enjoyed among all ages, being Sri Lanka’s best-loved sport and the students are thrilled to participate in the game.
This year, Isuru Perera will lead the Lyceum Panadura team under the guidance of coaches, Nadeep Jayasinghe, Lalith Perera and teacher-in-charge, Rumesh Wickramasinghe, while Danal Senevirathne will be leading the Lyceum Nugegoda team under the guidance of Head Coach, Chamara Guruge and teacher-in-charge, Pathum Perera.
Former Sri Lanka fast bowling coach, Anusha Samaranayake will grace the occasion as the chief Guest. The encounter is organised and conducted under the guidance of Sameera Pathum, the Deputy Director of Sports at Lyceum International Schools with the support from all members of the management, sports departments, coaches, parents and other contributors. This year’s encounter is sponsored by Zhontong Sri Lanka, Makeen Books, Uncle Sam’s Kitchen, Strategy Institute, NCG Holdings and Next Click Events.
