Mighty Mini World’s End Rendezvous
View(s):Members of the Mighty Mini Club of Sri Lanka and their families will drive their beloved Minis to Nuwara Eliya and beyond, and on to Horton Plains. The tour which is set to attract more than 30 Minis and some 100 members and their families, will start off from Colombo on March 7 and return to Colombo on March 9.
The club has meticulously planned this event – called the ‘Mighty Mini World’s End Rendezvous’ – so that members and families who join the event are assured of an unforgettable experience.
The Minis will congregate at Avissawella on Saturay and after breakfast will proceed in a convoy via Hatton Road to Nuwara Eliya. Blackpool Hotel in Nuwara Eliya will play host to the group, and the next day they will proceed to Horton Plains in their Minis. At Horton Plains the group will hike up to ‘World’s End’.
It will be a unique experience for the group as well as on-lookers. Minis always turn heads wherever they go. However seeing some 30+ Minis travelling in convoy will surely attract a lot of attention all the way through from Colombo to the salubrious hills and back.
The Mighty Mini Club has been in existence for 25 years, and currently there are over 640 members. Members own Minis ranging from the earliest built in the late 1950s to the current generation of ‘new’ Minis. As has been witnessed at most other events organised by the Mighty Mini Club, the ‘World’s End Rendezvous’ will see a range of Minis including Mini station wagons, Mokes, Utes and indeed Convertibles that will take part, to make this event a colourful and memorable one.
