Derrick Junkeer holds concert for Australia’s bushfire victims

Well known singer Derrick Junkeer of Sri Lankan origin now living in Melbourne Australia who has raised funds for many charitable causes in his homeland, was moved to hold a concert – the entire proceeds of which were donated for the rehabilitation of people affected by bushfires in Australia.

TV and radio personalities such as Denis Walter, Greg Evans, tribute artists for Elvis Presley, Tom Jones, Roy Orbison, Engelbert Humperdinck, Tina Turner, Linda Ronstadt, an opera singer, an Italian-Australian comedy artist and a few bands joined Derrick in this effort.

The show was held at one of the most sought-after venues in Melbourne The Grand on Cathies which the management gave him free of charge. Sound and lighting was free of charge.

In collaboration with the Victorian Government and the Bendigo bank Australia Derrick was able to collect  over $16,000 dollars which were donated to the Victorian Bushfire Disaster Appeal
