The Sunshine Charity has been selected as one of the grantees of the Sri Lanka Medical Association of North America (SLMANA).

Over the last couple of years, the generous funding for the health and wellbeing programme has provided 50 Sunshine children with a nutritious meal and a glass of flavoured milk.

The nine SLMANA Initiatives included the supply of multi-vitamins and iron tablets and the annual worming treatment for the children with health and medical checks being conducted by local doctors and nutritionists.

An initiative that was received with much enthusiasm was the discussion with mothers. For many it was their first experience of being able to discuss with the medical team many of their concerns. Many pregnant mothers were also screened and assessed for nutritional status under this initiative.
