Dart Global Logistics commissions state-of-the-art ‘DGL Fulfillment Centre at Muthurajawela
View(s):The DGL Fulfillment Centre, a state-of-the-art warehouse complex, was recently declared open at the Muthurajawela Logistics Park located in Kerawalapitiya by Dart Global Logistics (DGL).
The facility will offer top-of-the-range third-party logistics (3PL) services and freight logistics under one roof for various industry verticals. The 10,000 pallet position capacity warehouse, with a state-of-the-art Warehouse Management System (WMS), best-of-the-breed MHE’s (Material Handling Equipment) and a well-trained team of logistics professionals, is geared to handle a multitude of cargo requirements, the company said in a media release.
“This is certainly not another run-of-the-mill 3PL warehouse, nor is it one that offers value added services complementary to the bridge between unitized raw materials, whether they are assembled or finished goods or packaged and customised goods doing the last mile. The concept of holistic 4PL in our book will only make end-operations more transparent and magnified, enabling the downstream end-customer to be over satisfied, short of being pampered,” said Dart Global Logistics President and Group Managing Director Charles Wijesundera.
The facility is fully equipped to source all levels and the total scope of 3PL services whilst technologically resourced by Cargowise, a cutting edge electronic data interchange (EDI) WMS which gives an absolute connectivity for effective client-vendor interaction functions.
With the new facility, clients are assured that all the services such as sourcing, financial backing, sea/air freighting, receiving, transporting, storing, adding value or assembling, issuing (to blend), receiving finished goods, storing and re-issuing when required, loading, transporting and distributing and reverse logistics can be all out-sourced to DGL. Clients also need not have procurement stores or warehouse, freight, transport and distribution departments of their own.
Dart Global Logistics has already acquired a few other facilities at strategic locations to support their very ambitious drive in total supply chain management, while bigger facilities are in the offing.
