Sammu Ashan recorded a career best 144 in 141 balls as Sinhalese Sports Club led by 345 runs against Moors Sports Club on the second day of their Premier League Group ‘A’ match played at Braybrook place yesterday.

Right-handed Ashan, 22, hammered five sixes and 17 fours and put on a 189-run partnership for the fourth wicket with Charith Asalanka, who struck 77 off 93 including a six and eight fours after the visitors were struggling, losing three wickets for 26.
