The Education Ministry had taken the initiative to introduce a special telephone service for school children facing the GCE Ordinary Level Examinations this year, to assist them with any questions they may have with their subjects.

Upon the request made by the Ministry, Dialog Axiata together with the Postal and Telecommunications Commission and other telecommunication service providers like Mobitel, Airtel, Hutch, Sri Lanka Telecom and Lankabell have come forward to assist the Ministry with this project.

Parents can now call this toll free number – 1377 and sign their children up for the initiative. According to the Ministry, this programme will be conducted with the help of teachers experienced in each subject, and this free service will be provided in the Sinhala and Tamil languages. (SI)
