Madonna has undergone knee surgery following injury to cartilage. The “Queen of pop” encountered knee problems during her Madam X tour late last year forcing cancellation of many of her dates on her Madam X tour. The 61 year old singer who recently confirmed she had recovered from covid-19 is receiving Stem Cell treatment for a missing cartilage. Madonna took to social media to post pictures of her medical adventure as the ‘Material Girl’ asked fans “wish me luck”.

Artists and songwriters earn music royalties says PRS

Artists and songwriters earned £810.8 million in music royalties according to the PRS For Music, the agency which collects and pay royalties from music. The 2019 figures show songwriters, composers and music producers in the UK and worldwide royalty increased year on year by 8.7%. A total of 145,500 artists in the music industry were paid out £686 million. International income from 80 countries was £278.7 million, £222.2 million from public performances while £179.10 million was from online and £130.8 million from broadcasts.

DaBaby tops UK charts  

DaBaby the rap artist who has had a few encounters with the long arm of the law in the US has topped the UK singles chart with the song ‘Rockstar’. The song was released five weeks ago got a boost another rap star Roddy Ricch was added on. Since it debuted at No: 29, the track ‘Rockstar’ has made a steady chart climb before zooming from No: 6 to the pole position at No:1. ‘Rockstar’ is 28 year old Ohio born DaBaby’s first UK No: 1 song. The track is the second single to roll off his third album ‘Blame It On Baby’. He has co- written the song under his own name Jonathan Kirk. The rap hit is produced by Sethin The Kitchen.

Charity song ‘Stuck With U’ debuts the UK charts

The charity song ‘Stuck With U’ has two big names in pop music team up together. The duet by Ariana Grande and Justin Bieber debuted at No: 4 to become the highest entry on the UK singles chart during   the week. Both artists who are managed by Scooter Braun released the pop ballad on 7th May. The proceeds from ‘Stuck With U’ are going to the First Responders Children’s Foundation, which will benefit the education of children from frontline workers fighting the Coronavirus pandemic.
