The Polymerase chain reaction (PCR) tests were conducted on national cricketers who were on a 12-day residential training camp on Thursday–a day before the cricketers were released from the isolated training camp. Thirteen cricketers took part in the first camp with another 20 set to join the second camp starting Monday. All tests have given negative results, Dr. Daminda Attanayake confirmed.

Though it was not mandatory, all cricketers and the support staff, excluding head coach Mickey Arthur and batting coach Grant Flower went through the process, mainly to expose them to the testing process. Given the global health crisis created by COVID-19, in future, the players might have to go through the process when on tour.
