Allowances granted for student teachers, internships during stay-at-home period
View(s):Measures have been taken by the Education Ministry to grant a Rs. 5000 allowance to student teachers of National Colleges of Education.
The financial benefits will be granted for first year and second year students of the Diploma. All internships scheduled to end after a three year period, will also be provided with an allowance up to June 15 2020.
The Ministry has also taken steps to provide Rs. 242 million Rupees to nearly 16,200 student teachers of National Colleges of Education who stayed at home during the COVID-19 lockdown period.
The prime objective of the programme is to ensure the uninterrupted continuation of income for these student teachers during the COVID-19 period.
