Performance from Lotus Tower blows viewers away
View(s):‘From Sri Lanka with love’ the De Lanerolle brothers show that went live on Youtube last Sunday, drew an enthusiastic response garnering some 22,000 views from viewers around the world.
Singing from the dizzying heights of the Lotus Tower, South Asia’s tallest building buffeted by gusts of wind as the sun set and the colours of the sky changed, the performance whilst showcasing the country’s natural wonders in breathtaking visuals, was a tribute to the frontline workers battling the COVID-19 pandemic.
A beautiful rendition of Patricia Neway’s ‘Climb Every Mountain’ kicked off the 20 minute video and slick costume changes for every song and lighting completed a sharp presentation. Neranjan De Silva accompanied the brothers on the keyboard.
“The response was great when we embarked on this idea,” Ishan De Lanerolle tells us adding that it was quite the adventure, as he and Rohan had to climb to the highest point of the tower. “The blowing is unbelievable at that height. At one point we thought both of us might fly.”
“We wanted to promote Sri Lanka to the world and I think we are achieving that in our little way,” Ishan added.
