Musaeus paddlers clinch Under-14 ‘A’ title

The Musaeus College ‘A’ team became Under-14 A Division champions after beating Kegalu Balika Vidyalaya by 3-0 in the finals of the All-Island Inter-School Table Tennis Championship 2020. The tournament conducted by Sri Lanka Schools Table Tennis Association was held at the Indoor Courts of S. Thomas’ College, Mt. Lavinia from March 6 to 8.
The victorious Musaeus table tennis team comprised of Oneli Lehansa, Sandinthie Jayasinghe, Shenalie Mendis, Dulhara Hulawa and Hesanga Kamburawala and was coached by Nuwan Sampath.
In the final, where the Musaeus Under-14 paddlers emerged victorious Oneli Lehansa, Sandinthie Jayasinghe and Shenalie Mendis recorded easy wins against Kegalu BV’s Navindi Seneviratne, Chameesha Thushadi and Eshmini Sandunya respectively.
Oneli Lehansa beat Navindi Seneviratne in straight sets by 11-5, 12-10, 11-4 while her two team mates conceded a round before recording 3-1 set wins. Sandinthie Jayasinghe beat Chameesha Thushadi by 11-7, 8-11, 11-6, 11-4 and Shenalie Mendis beat Eshmini Sandunya by 11-7, 11-7, 9-11, 11-5.
