Northampton-HRMI Changemaker Scholarships
View(s):Northampton – HRMI Central Campus Colombo was the recipient of the International Changemaker 2020 Award for implementing numerous Changemaker initiatives which centered around empowering young persons from under privileged communities to pursue higher education pathways, thus enabling them to be gainfully employed.

Whilst these initiatives have directly benefited many individuals and families, the ‘change’ has inspired the communities to perceive futures positively and differently. Changemakers are individuals or institutions who would want to make a positive change in the society they live.
In order to promote Changemaker Values and initiatives at Northampton-HRMI Campuses in Colombo, 10 Scholarships are offered to enable GCE Advanced Level qualified students who believe in their commitment to make a positive social change to pursue a Bachelor’s Degree with University of Northampton, UK.
At Northampton HRMI Campuses, students are inspired and supported to be active participants in making things happen and not be passive observers. All University of Northampton courses of study incorporates Changemaker Values. In the words of Professor Nick Petford, Vice-Chancellor of the University of Northampton, “We believe that as Changemakers we ought to ‘live responsibly, work collaboratively, practice empathy whist being resourceful and true to our personal values’. We strive to inculcate these values in our students through many Changemaker initiatives that we do inside and outside the campus boundaries”.
University of Northampton is Gold Ranked by the UK Government Ranking system, the Teaching Excellence Framework (TEF). Gold is the highest ranking in UK and awarded after stringent and comprehensive evaluations by UK Government. Only 5 UK Gold Rank Universities have a presence in Sri Lanka.
Changemaker Scholarships are open to young persons who believe in their ability to make a change. They should be under 24, passed GCE (A/L) in any stream together with Credits for English and Mathematics at GCE O/L. Previous engagement in any core-curricular or extra-curricular activities, sports or being a Prefect at school or any contribution to community service would be advantageous in the evaluation for award of a scholarship.
Ten Scholarships are offered for September 2020 intake. These students will commence their studies in September 2020 and will graduate in November 2023. Scholarships are open for Fulltime OR Part time study options. All non-working students will be offered a six-month internship training opportunity in preparation for employment. Students can determine any of the following Degree pathways.
n BA (Hons) Business & Management
n BA (Hons) Human Resource Management
n BA (Hons) Logistics & Supply Chain Management
SCHOLARSHIP CATEGORIES
n Full Scholarships: 2 Full Scholarships valued Rs. 1,200,000 each are offered. This Scholarship covers the total course fees over the full duration of the period of study, inclusive of assessment fees, university fees, etc. Scholarship recipients do not have to pay any fees except the Registration Fee of Rs. 25,000.
n Half Scholarships: 3 Half Scholarships valued Rs. 600,000 each are offered. This Scholarship covers HALF of total course fees over the full duration of the period of study, inclusive of assessment fees, university fees, etc. Scholarship recipients are required to pay Rs. 600,000 and a Registration Fee of Rs. 25,000. The balance payable amounting to Rs. 600,000 can be paid in 30 interest free installments of Rs. 20,000 per month
n Partial Scholarships: 5 Partial Scholarships valued Rs. 300,000 each are offered. This Scholarship covers 25% of total course fees over the full duration of the period of study, inclusive of assessment fees, university fees, etc. Scholarship recipients are required to pay Rs. 900,000/- and a Registration Fee of Rs. 25,000/- The balance payable amounting to Rs. 900,000/- can be paid in 30 interest free installments of Rs. 30,000/- per month
