UK-based Chrishan Mendis on CIMA Council
View(s):Chrishan Mendis, FCMA CGMA FCIM and Chartered Marketer, has joined the governing Council of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) from June 2020.
Mr. Chrishan Mendis
Now based in Manchester (UK), and from CIMA’s North West England and North Wales electoral constituency, Mr. Mendis will serve for three years representing the interests of its global membership.
He is a past student of St. Peter’s College, Colombo and Royal College, Colombo, and an alumnus of the University of Colombo, Sri Lanka where he graduated with a B.Sc.(Hons) in Physical Sciences in 1982. He was admitted an Associate Member of Chartered Institute of Management Accountants in 1986, obtained Fellowship in 1989 and is a Chartered Global Management Accountant (CGMA).
He is also a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Marketing (FCIM) UK and a Chartered Marketer.
Having commenced his corporate career in the Hayleys Group in 1983 as a Management Accountant, Mr. Mendis held many positions in the Eco Solutions sector in the group over the years and was the Head and Managing Director of the Eco Solutions sector from 2014 to 2107. He was also a member of the Hayleys Group Management Committee from 2001 to 2017. He has been based in the UK since 2010.
