“I’m Hiruni Dasanayake, currently a first-year student at Grodno State Medical University, Belarus. I studied in Good Shepherd Convent, Colombo 13 and completed my Advanced Levels in De Mazenod College, Kandana. Talking about Grodno State Medical University (GRSMU), first I must say that I am truly glad that I chose this university as the place where I pave the way to follow my passion of becoming a medical doctor. Situated in beautiful and peaceful (trust me, as a med student you need peaceful) Grodno region of Republic of Belarus, this university together with all its staff and facilities provides the best environment for a perfect education. The panel of professors and lecturers along with the teaching techniques used creates an education system that gives the best to its students and helps the students to be the best of themselves.
IMC is what helped me to take the first step to enter the path that leads me to my dream. Starting from the university application, preparing the necessary documents, handling the visa, preparatory classes to guide us on how to face the entrance exam and on what to expect once we get here, departure, to arranging accommodation facilities, IMC helped me and my friends to comfortably settle down in Belarus and begin our university life. They provided their promised services smoothly and the staff was always one call away. HOW DO I GET PREPARED FOR ENTRANCE EXAM & MY FIRST YEAR STUDIES?
An intensive curriculum is conducted to train students for the Entrance Exam by IMC Education with a panel of experts including PhD Lecturers & Medical Doctors. A “FREE” comprehensive training which has resulted 100% pass rate over the years. All students of IMC including me, in the September 2019 batch passed all exams with distinction grade thanks to IMC Lecturers & Doctors.
Soon after finishing our exams & while waiting for results, IMC Education organized a FREE comprehensive Pre-University Preparation (Pre Med) program which equips essential competencies to start the MD program in Belarus and to have a competitive edge over other students. This program is conducted by a Medical Doctor currently practicing in Sri Lanka who graduated from Belarus and ranked 8th during the ACT 16 examination conducted in year 2016. This program is currently conducting online as a precautionary measure for the prevailing situation in Sri Lanka. This program was the one of the reason why practicals at Grodno was super easy for me as I previously had knowledge and practice through IMC training.
