Award winning tele-director Costa seeks a listening ear

‘Sudu Andhagena Kalu Avidhin’ famed award winning teledrama director Sunil Costa’s newest teleplay ‘Ahanna Kenek Nehe’ (Can you hear me) had its Muhurath ceremony last week.
Produced by actor Chinthaka Kulasinghe, the teleplay comprised of a star-studded cast including the veterans and talented youngsters. They include Lakshman Mendis, Dilhani Ekanayake, Roger Senevirante, Niroshan Wijesinghe, Shalani Tharaka,
Veena Jayakody, Gihan Fernando, Umayangana Wickremasinghe, Dulan Liyanage, Madhushani Warnakulasuriya, Shalitha Gunawardena, Ananda Kumara Unnahe,Somaweera Gamage, Priyankara Ratnayake, Priyantha Sirikumara, Malee Jayaweera, Nihal Mahahelage, Gevin Abhishek, Sampath Jayaweera and Chnthaka himself.
In the technical unit Sisikirana Paranavithana handles camera, while Ajantha Alahakone is the art director and Nilantha Ranasingeh assistant director. Nimal Wijesiri is the
production executive and Malith Peiris is the production manager.
Shan Alwis the editor and music direction is by Dinesh Subasinghe.
Vocal renditions are by Upeksha Nirmani and Chandramal Fernando.
Last year Sunil Costa’s ‘Kalu Andagena Sudu Avidhin’ was immensely popular among
TV viewers and the teledrama also won the Most Popular Teledrama of the year Award at the 24th Sumathi Awards ceremony. It was also nominated for 14 awards including the Best Drama, the Best Director, the Best Actor, the Best Actress, the Best Up-Coming Actor, the Best Up-Coming Actress, the Best Cameraman at the Raigam Tele’es award ceremony.
Among the other popular teleplays Costa has directed are ‘Romeo Juliet, ‘Rodha Hathare Manamalaya’, ‘Sihina Wasanthayak’, ‘Piyasa’,’Pinsara Dhosthara’ and ‘Sudui Usai’.
