The Kandy Perahera this year was overflowing with vibrancy and grandeur as usual despite the COVID-19 pandemic.

This year the public was not allowed to line up along the perahera route due to health  guidelines. Yet the last Randoli Perahera was held on a grand scale, paying homage to the sacred Tooth Relic of Lord Buddha.

The Dalada Perahera is a historic and cultural pageant beloved by Buddhists in Sri Lanka.

Those who participated in the perahera adhered strictly to the precautions set out by health officials.

This was the first time it was held without public participation. The final  Randoli Perahera is the last  parade, which  marks the climax of the Esala Perahera. It is a fusion of Sri Lankan culture exhibiting the elegance of dance performances, costumes and music.

These pictures show the gracious dancers who add a touch of the exquisite to the Perahera.
