Generous scholarships for Sri Lankan students
With a new semester starting on November 2, at UTS Sri Lanka and Orientation the week before there’s no reason to hold back the journey to university even if travel plans have been delayed. Students can start right away, here in Colombo, knowing they are on a pathway to complete their studies at the University of Technology Sydney (UTS) when travel permits.

‘Early bird’ offer
Students who enrol before 30 August will be guaranteed a 25% scholarship and a waiver of on their registration fees. This special offer is one of many opportunities. There will also be a number of merit-based 50% and 100% scholarships available for this intake for the top students.
Scholarships to UTS Sydney
Diploma graduates are eligible for the UTS Sri Lanka Pathway Fee Scholarship, which entitles them to a $7000 AUD per year fee scholarship for the remainder of their degree at UTS. For a business student with four semesters remaining in their degree, this is a saving of $14,000 AUD, and for an Engineering student with six semesters remaining in their degree, it’s a saving of $21,000 AUD.Diploma students can also apply for the Sri Lanka to UTS Pathway Scholarship. Awarded to the top performing student going to UTS in Semester One and Semester Two of each year, this provides 25% off fees for the remainder of the student’s first degree at UTS.
Motivation to stay focused
Ms Vishnie Babeendran, who was among the first to complete a Diploma of Engineering at UTS Sri Lanka, received a 50% scholarship and completed her studies with a 6.8 GPA. Her high performance helped her secure a 25% scholarship for three years to complete her Bachelor of Engineering (Civil) at UTS in Sydney.She says, “I offer my heartfelt gratitude to UTS Sri Lanka for offering me a scholarship when I initially enrolled in the Diploma of Engineering. It motivated me to stay focused on my studies and maintain a good GPA. The guidance and support from UTS Sri Lanka’s principal and lecturers helped me top the group, and win the Pathway Scholarship (worth 25% of future tuition) to pursue my undergraduate degree at the University of Technology Sydney.”
