Two plays from Interact Art
Two theatrical productions presented by the theatre production group, ‘Interact Art’ will be staged at the Preksha Drama Festival organized by the Tower Hall Theater Foundation at the Elphinstone Theater in Maradana.
Veteran playwright M. Safeer’s ‘Anne Frank’, the Sinhala adaptation of world renowned book ‘Anne Frank’s diary’ will be staged at 3.30pm and 6.30pm on August 31.
The play stars Jayanath Bandara, Visakha Jayaweera, Imaya Bogoda, Primal K. Perera and Chittarina Medis. Video and artwork by Saliya Liyanarachchi, music by M. Sharaf and lighting by Wasantha Kumara. Makeup by Thelma Deepika and stage management by Silumini Alagiyawanna and M, Shafraz, the play is written by Jayalath S. Gomez and M. Safeer.
The other theatre production by Interact Art ‘Untouched’, English Language Drama directed by Sujeewa Pathinisekara will go on the boards at 3.30 pm and 6.30 pm on September 2.
The internationally acclaimed play, has represented Sri Lanka at the Fujairah Drama Festival in the United Emirates and the Kalkata Dum Dum Festival in India. This is the first time ‘Untouched’ play is staged in Sri Lanka.
Subuddhi Lakmali performs in this play and set and choreography done by M. Safeer, music by Vindaka Weerasinghe and lighting by Wasantha Kumara. Stage management is handled by Primal K. Perera and M. Sharaf.
