New song, sung strong by MAF
View(s):The Moratuwa Arts Forum (MAF) musicians have trail blazed on a soul stirring song which could be described probably as the most laudable social responsibility musical endeavour to suit the present times, to come from within the hearts, minds and souls of a group of performing artistes from Sri Lanka .

Fifty two member singers of the Forum have come together in a spirit of goodwill and brotherhood to sing this amazing song in unison, to convey a strong health message to the entire world population, urging everyone to coexist – healthy and happy as ‘One World, One Community’- which is the title given to this epic song .
The idea of a topical song to suit the current times was proposed to MAF President Lucky Deva and treasurer Laksiri Fernando by seasoned musician Priya Peiris of the ‘La Bambas’ fame, who was spurred to compose it during the lock-down period.
‘While languishing at home, I thought it would be most appropriate to compose a song – a vibrant message to all mankind, to be sung collectively by the entire MAF singers on the current global situation, to all of humanity’ said Priya.
It is apparent that this is not meant to be a commercial song, but in contrast, a befitting musical effort by MAF artistes, as a segment of responsible citizens, to educate the world.
The lyrics, melody and music for the song were composed and directed by Priya and performed by versatile MAF member cum recording engineer Udara Fernando. While the audio segment is complete, the visuals handled by Eranja and Viranjan Perera will begin shortly and the project is scheduled to be completed in a few weeks.
