Renowned columnist wins at Vidyodaya Literary Awards
View(s):The Vidyodaya Literary Awards organised by the Sri Jayewardenepura University’s Department of Sinhala and Mass Communication Studies was held at the university’s Sumangala Hall recently.
Renowned columnist Yasawardena Rodrigo won the award for Columnist of the year. Mr. Rodrigo had been contributing to our sister paper Ada for many years. His collection was selected from 58 columns he had written in Yasayage Waakya – his column in the Ada newspaper. His set of columns were published in a book as well. Last year he won the Presidential Award for his columns.
