Police probing the death of Journalist Zacky Jabbar (60) will report to Court tomorrow the findings of their investigations, after the post-mortem examination failed to ascertain the cause of death due to the decomposed state of the body.

Thalangama Police Sergeant Ervin Wijekumara Kumarapeli said that they recorded statements from neighbours and colleagues as part of the investigation.

He said the JMO report was inconclusive, as it stated that the deceased was not subjected to stabbing, strangulation nor showed any signs of trauma to the bones, yet it did not reveal whether the death was due to natural causes or poisoning as the internal organs were in a decomposing state.

Sergeant Kumarapeli said neighbours had told police they had not seen Mr Jabbar for days, though they used to previously see him morning and night as he was leaving for and returning from work.

Police said, according to information received, the journalist was living alone.

Sergeant Kumarapeli added that the death might have occurred several days prior to the discovery of the body on September 9. He said the brother of the deceased, Salman Jabbar and sister, Feroza went to the house at Peiris Mawatha, Kumaragewatte, Thalangama as there was no reply from their brother, and found the body.
