While every industry across the country works to pick itself back up after the COVID-19 lockdown, Colombo Fashion Week (CFW) aims to revamp the retail experience and interact with patrons in whole new ways. This week, CFW announced their inaugural Retail Week that will take place from September 11 to October 4, in association with One Galle Face and HSBC Sri Lanka.

The programme includes three weeks of activities based on enhancing knowledge bases and creating engaging retail experiences, all under one roof at the One Galle Face mall. These will fall under weekly themes like Fashion and Wellness Week, Environment and Conservation Week, and Literary Week — all designed to bring the “energy back in retail in a very positive manner” according to Managing Director of CFW Ajai Vir Singh.

“We’ve come up with an interesting series of events that brings interest to the retail and shopping experience,” adds Vice President and General Manager of Shangri-La Hotel Colombo Timothy Wright. This includes expert talks on relevant themes and subjects, book readings and workshops from leading figures in their respective fields like Fouzul Hameed, Dr. Asha De Vos, Ashok Ferrey and many more.

Patrons can also look forward to enjoying the many concurrent entertainment, shopping and F&B events, with something to suit all ages.

CFW will also be launching The Edit, an exclusive store space on Level 2 where all participating CFW designers will retail their latest collections that were showcased on the runway in August, for a limited period. As Ajai describes it, CFW is introducing a “new kind of retail experience in a new environment in a new normal” .
