The 30th Annual Susan George Pulimood Memorial Oration of Visakha Vidyalaya, will be held on Tuesday, October 6 in the school’s Jeremias Dias Hall at 5.00 p.m.
An annual feature in Visakha Vidyalaya’s Old Girls Association (OGA) calendar is the Susan George Pulimood Memorial Oration held every year to commemorate the birthday of Mrs. Pulimood who served the school as Principal for 22 long years.
This year, the event was postponed in July due to the COVID-19 pandemic situation.
The Oration will be delivered by Dr. Champa Priyadarsini Banagala, MBBS (Colombo), Diploma in Ophthalmology (PGIM) Master of Surgery in Ophthalmology (PGIM) FRCS (Edinburgh) Consultant Ophthalmologist National Eye Hospital (1989-2013).
The subject of the oration: ‘Novel era of eye care: Marvels and concerns’
Due to the prevailing COVID-19 pandemic, special safety guidelines as set out by the Health Ministry would be followed. All participants were advised to wear a mask and wash their hands. Seating would be arranged according to the social distancing guidelines.
