‘Hence, we are delighted about this global recognition received by the Popham Arboretum’ stated the Popham Arboretum News bulletin for the September 2020.
From 2016 onwards for four consecutive years, the Popham Arboretum has also won the prestigious Tripadvisor CERTIFICATE of EXCELLENCE Award. As in any organisation, employees are the most important factor when it comes to service delivery and customer satisfaction.
Jayantha, the Curator, has been inspirational, working with his team to achieve continuous successes throughout the years. He epitomises the fact that with the correct leadership and motivation even a small group of people can achieve great heights. A lesser-known attraction has come a long way, and now it is known the world over.
As Jayantha explains, ‘This all started when I met Sandaruwan. He helped us to expand our channels of communication by creating a Facebook page and adding us on Tripadvisor. These new platforms helped us to attract more likeminded people who cared for the environment. As in any online platform we had our share of good and bad comments. It’s a challenge to provide quality service consistently, with limited recourses, and I thank my team for their efforts’.
