Imperial College of Business Studies celebrating their triumph
Imperial College of Business Studies ‘A’ team emerged champions at the Champions League Inter-College Futsal Tournament held in Colombo. Organised by the Colombo Futsal Club, eight teams played in a round robin format before the knockout round of the competition held at CFC’s indoor stadium in Dehiwela.
Imperial College defeated NIBM in a penalty tie-breaker 3-2 in the final after both teams failed to score during regular time. In the semi-final Imperial ‘A’ beat SLIIT while NIBM edged out Imperial College ‘B’ team.
M. Ijaz of Imperial College ‘A’ team won the Golden Boot award while his teammate M. Firnaz was picked as the Best Defender. The Imperial ‘A’ team captained by Selaru also comprised Kalana, Taalib and Banu.
