A three day training programme for new zonal education directors began recently at Hotel Topaz in Kandy. The purpose of the training programme is to acclimatise the new zonal education directors with the Tamil schools in the Central Province.

In September six Central Province schools were introduced to the “Green Schools” concept. Following this, zonal education directors are currently being trained to implement this concept.

This is a European Union (EU) concept for anti-environment pollution, and it was taken up by the Institute of Social Development. The first stage of the project began in Central Province Schools. - L.B.Senaratne
