Become World Ready with a Bachelor of Science (Biomedical Science)

A Bachelor of Science (Biomedical Science) provides students the opportunity to learn the theory and gain the practical experience and knowledge necessary for graduates to  secure employment in the biomedical profession.

Students will gain broad discipline knowledge across a range of theoretical and practical biomedical studies in physiology, microbiology, immunology, genetics and biomedical ethics. Graduates can continue on to specialise in one of these laboratory disciplines: medical microbiology, clinical chemistry, transfusion science, haematology, histopathology, cytology, virology, immunology, or medicine.

By communicating disciplinary knowledge and values in professional and public contexts, this course provides students with a global outlook with respect for cultural diversity, including Indigenous cultural competence. An emphasis is placed on students thinking critically to develop the skills to anticipate challenges and to be able to analyse, interpret and conceptualise complex biomedical problems.
