Kandy Court complex closed due to COVID threat
The Kandy Court complex was closed on Friday, before Court sittings began, and it was announced that the complex is undergoing a ‘fumigation process’ after a police officer showed symptoms similar to COVID-19.
According to lawyers, the police officer had accompanied an acting magistrate for an inquiry. This was reported to the Court, and thereafter the fumigation process began.
Later on, the litigants were notified about the status of their cases, which were on the list to be heard or called for the day, and the notices were posted at the entrance of the Court.
Some of the cases that were to be heard have been postponed till the end of this month, and those on “call” were postponed to March 2021.
