Re-Fill your Dreams, as they may Leak

Everybody in this world has a dream. Even the poorest dream of getting through the day. We all have dreams that are unique to us. My dream is to initiate a rehabilitation center to serve the lost souls who are suffering from the addiction to drugs. My adorable wife’s dream is to set up an orphanage, so that she could become a mother to many innocent children who have never seen their mothers.
Likewise, you may also be dreaming of becoming a CEO, sending your children toabroad, seeing your children build their own home and buying a new car or it might even be something else you desire for. Which you believe would bestow immense happiness to you and your loved ones or the society. Natalie, a friend of mine has minimized purchasing products in plastic bottles, as she dreams of handing over a plastic free world for the next generation. Do you recollect how many dreams you have abandoned in your life? How many dreams do we dream of on the 1st of January, but as we look back on the 31st of December, we come to realise that a majority of those dreams or rather all of them have faded away, and we cannot even recall certain dreams.
My definition of a dream is that it is an aspiration of a fruit which comes in the form of a seed that requires to be taken through the process of cultivation in order to succeed. The important aspect is that you keep your dream alive until you achieve it. If not it will just turn out to be a thought which has not grounded strongly within you and developed till it flourishes. Assume that your dream is stored in a glass jar, the jar is prone to be attacked from both inside and outside. The outcome would be a damaged jar that tends to leak your dreams astray. That is the very reason you do not feel the same energy, enthusiasm and inspiration you felt when your dream was born.
Some dreams fade away at inception, some dreams exists for a short period of time and some dreams persist for a long time, some hang on to their dreams until the very last moment but give up just when the dream is about to succeed. There are people who have quit their jobs when they were at hand for a promotion. Some cricketers opt to play for county clubs in UK, whilst they were about to be selected for the national cricket team. Therefore we should keep in mind that a dream must be kept alive until it reaches its final destination. Keeping a dream alive is well said than done, as it is not an easy task. As any process of cultivation, keeping a dream alive requires commitment, passion and energy.
In my point of view a dream should be the reason your living, without it you would feel lifeless. I have seen people who seem like walking dead bodies simply because their dreams have faded away or leaked from its original form due to various reasons. At times the pressures in life such as a stressful job, family issues, financial instability and physical drawbacks may influence you to give up your dreams.
If we think of a farmer, despite the plights he has to go through, he continues watering the seeds until they become plants and then trees. He uproots destructive weeds and fertilises his crops until he generates a protective mechanism around the cultivation, he toils till he reaches his ultimate dream of reaping an abundant harvest. Likewise we should be convicted never to give up on our dreams moreover we must live our dreams until we are triumphant. Sometime ago when I was studying for CIM-UK, my aspiration was to become the best in the island by winning the national prize. I could not achieve it at the first stage nor the second, yet I was committed to achieve it at the final stage, which actually is the most difficult of all the stages. I achieved my dream by obtaining the best results in Sri Lanka for the CIM-UK final stage. But in the process I encountered many challenges, which could have easily damaged my focus and let my dream leak astray. Many a times my friends invited me to go clubbing, but I simply refused, as my main focus was studying during the night, I never wanted to exchange my priorities as they were fixed on my dreams.
Therefore, fix your priority on your dreams and do not shift them emotionally when you encounter various situations. Do you ever abandon your meals? No, why? It is because you know it would result in suffering or even death. Likewise our dreams should also be like life and death for us. Train yourself to wake up every day with your dreams and embrace your dreams with you as you go back to bed. As for me I would like to dream my dream in my dreams.
Keep re-filling your dream every time you feel you are moving astray from them. As the tendency for a dream to leak and fade away is very high, re-filling your dream is of utmost importance. Take time alone, with yourself and keep re-filling your dreams. Do not let your dreams fade away due to your weaknesses or the threats from the world outside. It is also rather better if your dreams are not born out of temporary emotions.
Think for a moment, how you would feel when you walk out of a cinema, after watching a film of Bruce Lee and Van Damme. You would feel as if you are either Bruce Lee or Van Damme. You would start behaving like them, and walking like them the whole day. But the next day you wake up, you behave as the same old person that you used to be. If your dreams are intrigued by temporary emotions then they will not long last, they might even perish within 24 hours.
An emotion can definitely arouse a dream but you have to make sure that you water and nurture that dream till its accomplished. Certain dreams will not release a fragrance to the world, if they are based on ill intentions. For instance buying a car to brag to your neighbor is such an ill intended dream. Also some individuals dream of succeeding in order to show the girl who left them. You will surely succeed but since the dream retains poison from its inception, you will not be able to enjoy the maximum pleasure of the achievement. Therefore, make sure that your dream is genuine and capable of spreading the aroma of love to the world.
