Distinguished for both its dedication to student welfare and affordability in course fees and cost of living Wrexham University is situated in North-East Wales (UK).
The University has its origins in the Wrexham School of Science and Art (WSSA), which was established in 1887. The University has been functioning under its present name -Wrexham University- since 2008. Although a relatively young University, Wrexham University has carved a niche for itself as an innovative higher education institution which offers applied courses leading to employability in a broad range of fields. It is a vibrant and friendly place where each student’s learning and future is given personal attention.
Inspiration
The university’s name comes from the Welsh scholar and hero Owain and the university aims to champion some of the same philosophies as him. The university is proud of naming itself after a man who cherished learning, loved his country, embraced an international outlook, and constantly demonstrated an inspiring and enterprising approach to life.

The university is extremely proud of the opportunities which they provide for those from non-traditional backgrounds to enter higher education. More than half of their students study part-time and they are one of the UK’s leading universities for supporting students from lower socio-economic backgrounds, thanks to their comprehensive Widening Access programme in the local community. The university is also the first HE institution in North Wales to become a Stonewall Diversity Champion.
Location
The university began with two campuses in Wrexham (Plas Coch and Regent Street), but have since grown to include campuses in St Asaph and Northop in North Wales. They are a small university compared to some others, but with that comes a great sense of community with a fantastic support network for all students and staff.

Liverpool, Liverpool’s historic position as one of the most important trading ports in the world has meant that over time many grand buildings have been constructed in the city as headquarters for shipping firms, insurance companies, banks and other large firms.

When a student joins Wrexham Glyndŵr University he/she will become part of a rich history of higher education in North-East Wales. With a history in education provision going back over 130 years development of the campus has been a continuous process and students will study in some of the same historic buildings that thousands of graduates have studied in before, alongside many new facilities that have been established over recent years. Development continues and the University is currently in the process of a £60 million development strategyto ensure students have the best facilities and learning environment. The majority of University services and facilities are housed within the Wrexham campus, which creates a friendly environment and promotes a real sense of community amongst students and staff.

International Fees:

Undergraduate degree programme students will be required to enrol to International Foundation Year and pay the full tuition fees for the first year before they are issued with CAS (Confirmation of Acceptance of Studies) by the University. Students may apply for their visas after obtaining a CAS from the University. Postgraduate degree programme students will be required to pay at least 50% of the tuition fees before the university issue the CAS and they will be required to pay the balance fees before they start studies in the UK.
In addition to tuition fees, knowing the average cost of living in the UK is an important part of a student’s application and financial preparation. Students shall provide the evidence required to cover the costs of your stay, including your travel, and living expenses. Students will be required to show evidence they can cover a twelve month living cost of GBR 9,000 at the time of applying for a student visa to the University.
