Allowance distribution methods exposing people to danger
View(s): The distribution of the Rs 5,000 allowance for persons whose incomes were affected due to the Covid-19 situation has been taking place in several areas of the Western Province.
In some of the areas, the money is distributed in a methodical manner, but in some other areas the distribution of the money has been chaotic, with scant concern for health warnings.
In some areas officials have failed to inform the public on how the money is being distributed and the method to be followed in collecting.
While in some places officials had set up screens to minimise direct contact, in other areas there was simply no order.
