The APIIT School of Computing offers brand-new cutting-edge degree programmes from Staffordshire University, UK, giving students the opportunity to choose from a suite of specialisms/awards to build skills and develop a rewarding career in IT.
These new industry-oriented programmes, incorporating emergent practices and cutting-edge technologies, are structured in a way that allows you to study the fundamentals of Computer Science in the first year. At the start of the second year, you are able to choose from a wide range of specialisations and continue your studies in an area that you are passionate about. Industry orientation of the programme is further reinforced by industry visits, guest lectures by industry experts and the unique internship which takes place after two years of study. In short, the programmes are designed to develop the skills required by the industry and cater to the rising demand for a diversity of Information Technology Professionals. APIIT Foundation Programmes
These programmes stand out as a tried and tested alternative route to entering a degree programme in Business, Computing or Law at APIIT. The APIIT Foundation programmes are open to students who successfully complete the GCE Ordinary Level examination. The main benefit in taking this route is the significant saving of time to become a qualified professional.
There is a considerable skills gap between the completion of the GCE Ordinary Level and the commencement of the first year of a demanding undergraduate degree. APIIT ensures that this gap is seamlessly bridged by the 8-month Foundation Programmes. The Foundation Programmes aim to develop numeracy skills, communication skills, IT skills and study skills required for degree level studies while giving students an introduction to the discipline of their choice – Computing, Business or Law. In addition, the Foundation Programmes are instrumental in instilling a sense of professionalism that will help students embark on undergraduate studies.
After the successful completion of the relevant APIIT Foundation Programme, students can go on to enrol in a degree programme of their choice in Business, Computing or Law at APIIT which culminates in the award of an internationally recognised degree from Staffordshire University, UK.
