An unmissable event for students in Sri Lanka
With 2021 finally here, this year’s UTS Sri Lanka Open Week is an unmissable event for students preparing for their university journey.
From Monday 18 January to Saturday 23 January, the Colombo campus will open from 9.00am until 4.30pm.
It’s a great opportunity to see the facilities, explore the state-of-the art learning spaces, and get a feel for the campus. Students still considering their future career can take advantage of a free career assessment, using an online tool available on the campus. After using the free tool, students will receive a written review, emailed to their personal account – a valuable aid to choosing a study path.
Those seeking even more personalised information can book a one-on-one session with a student adviser to discuss pathways to study in Australia (including the visa process and financial aspects), how to choose the right course for your chosen career, and options to finance your studies, such as student loans.
In the interests of COVID safety, all tours must be booked in advance by calling 0774 775 774. If preferred, there are ‘virtual’ tours available, via Zoom, but these must also be booked. Visitor safety is a high priority and UTS Sri Lanka adheres to strict social distancing and hygiene protocols.
Enrolments now open
UTS Sri Lanka has already opened enrolments for the March intake, and there are advantages for those who make an early start. Students who enrol before 31 January are entitled to a guaranteed 25 percent scholarship and a registration fee waiver. UTS Sri Lanka also offers academic merit scholarships up to 100 percent.
Students who achieve diploma in Business, Engineering, or IT from UTS Sri Lanka can enter second year of the corresponding degree at the University of Technology Sydney (UTS), and the Foundation programme is a pathway to any Australian undergraduate degree. This is a unique opportunity to prepare for success at a leading Australian university, while studying here in Colombo. UTS Sri Lanka has a deep commitment to educating the world’s future leaders, and providing opportunities for talented students. That’s why many generous scholarships are available for new students, and those continuing to UTS.
Opportunities for
new students
Students who enrol before 31 January will be guaranteed a 25 percent ‘early bird’ scholarship and a waiver of their registration fees. This special offer is one of many opportunities. There will also be a number of merit-based scholarships, up to 100 percent, available for this intake for the top students.
Scholarships to UTS Sydney
Diploma graduates are eligible for the UTS Sri Lanka Pathway Fee Scholarship, which entitles them to a $7000 AUD per year fee scholarship for the remainder of their degree at UTS. For a business student with four semesters remaining in their degree, this is a saving of $14,000 AUD, and for an Engineering student with six semesters remaining in their degree, it’s a saving of $21,000 AUD. Diploma students can also apply for the Sri Lanka to UTS Pathway Scholarship. Awarded to the top performing student going to UTS in Semester One and Semester Two of each year, this provides 25 percent off fees for the remainder of the student’s first degree at UTS.
Believing in the potential of Sri Lankan students
Ms Alison Hiscox, Principal of UTS Sri Lanka, says, “By offering an extensive range of scholarships, we ensure talented students receive the opportunities they deserve. As future leaders, our students access world-class university standards from day one of their studies, preparing to join their peers at UTS to complete their degrees. We believe in the potential of our students and do all we can to support them. We look forward to welcoming prospective students and their families to our Open Week so they can discover their study pathway with us.”
