New findings on the generation of “free electricity”, research presented to Power and Energy Minister
View(s):After extensive research and development, which was extended for nearly two years, an innovative new system has been invented by Sabaragamuwa University External Board Member Jagath Wijesekara. The research conducted was related to the generating of free electricity by converting the gravity and acceleration of moving road vehicles into static electricity.
After the official publication of the research paper, the findings were presented to Minister Dallas Alahapperuma at the Ministry of Power and Energy last week.
This research was a combination of mechanical engineering, electrical engineering and kinetic engineering. Therefore, the prototype working engine was made and tested for the working application of the researched concepts and the new invention was duly registered for patent rights.
At present, energy production is a widely spoken topic and a decisive governing factor in the development process in Sri Lanka and across the world.
The increasing global demand for the energy in future and collective global development, would become a critical problem that would have to be addressed soon, because of diminishing natural resources and environmental conservation.
Conventional energy production directly associated with the burning of petroleum oils and coal deposits, which results in the release of carbon dioxide and other toxic gases directly into the atmosphere had become a critical concern. Therefore, reducing the global carbon foot print was important, in terms of ecology and environmental conservation.
Therefore, green energy generation had been focused on in this research and the research methodology for the project was developed on the following principles: green energy production, maximum utilisation of available and convertible resources, minimisation of the energy production cost and the simplification of the working mechanism. The main research objective of the project was the generation of free electricity as a national and a global solution for the growing electricity demand.
Researcher and developerJagath Wijesekara had been duly appointed an External Board Member of Sabaragamuwa University of Sri Lanka.
Jagath Wijesekara was in the process of officially publishing the free energy generation research findings and had previously published research findings such as “Hospitality Psychology”, which introduced psychological services into the hotel and hospitality sector in 1995. He was also in the process of finalising the research publication “Tourism in Sri Lanka – Two steps back & three steps forward” which would be published this year.
Jagath Wijesekara had also researched and found a new tea production method which was registered with patent rights. It would be launched as a commercial product soon, and this would be a new chapter in the tea industry as a new tea invention. MrWijesekara is also currently in the process of researching and developing several other projects as well.
