A road in Moratuwa has been named as ‘Nihal Nelson Mawatha’, a tribute to the popular singer Nihal Nelson on 9th January, 2021, the 75th birthday of the veteran vocalist.
The ceremony of unveiling the name board ‘Nihal Nelson Mawatha’ was held in Rawathawatta, Moratuwa, the home town of Nihal Nelson, under the patronage of Mayor of Moratuwa, W. Samanlal Fernando and several other popular singers and musicians.
