Seminar on “Everything about tea” conducted by Institute of Chemistry Ceylon
View(s):A hot steaming cup of tea on a cold day warms you up, a glass of iced tea on a summerly hot day cools you down. It cheers you up when you are depressed and pacifies you when you are anxious all around.
The world is split into various opinions and beliefs of different people but when it comes to tea, a unanimous and unified agreement is made that it is a crowd’s favourite beverage. There’s hardly anyone who dislikes it. Several discoveries about the health benefits of tea has pushed it to the forefront of consumption. After water, tea is the most commonly consumed beverage. It is an age-old remedy for common and ordinary ailments.
With the intention of dissemination knowledge on all avenues related to tea, especially on its health benefits as it enters most bodies on a daily basis, the Institute of Chemistry Ceylon (IChemC) has organised a webinar on the topic of “Everything about Tea” on 4th of March 2021, from 8.30 am to 12.30 pm.
This webinar is coordinated by the Seminar committee of the IChemC, headed by Dr. Udaya K. Jayasundara. The programme intends to cover all topics ranging from “Tea Chemistry and Biochemistry” by Professor Nimal Punyasiri, “Tea Manufacture” by Mr. Gerad Galahitiyawa, “Health Promoting Effects of Tea” by Dr.Tissa Amarakoon , “Value added Products from Tea” by Dr.Ranjith Perera, and “Tea Tasting and Some Marketing Aspects of Tea” by Mr. Niraj De Mel. The webinar will be moderated by Dr. Udaya K. Jayasundara.
We believe this will be an excellent opportunity to all those who are tea enthusiasts as well as those who are curious to know and learn about tea in general and those who want to market the product as well.
