‘Nobody knows’ why but Australian theatres are houseful
Award winning filmmaker Benett Rathnayake’s newest film ‘Kawurwath Danne Nehe’ or ‘Nobody knows’ will be released to a number of full house audiences in Australia from January 31. Starting from Melbourne today (31), the film will be screened at Village cinemas in Narre Warren and Air Port West, at Hoyts Cinemas in Adelaide, at Glen Waverly in Melbourne and Sydney Hoyts cinemas every Sunday. Marking as one of the most successful Sri Lankan film screenings in Australia, almost all tickets of ‘Nobody Knows’ were sold out much ahead of the screenings commenced.
In a land where a 17 years old poor schoolgirl goes to the probation prison for stealing 8 nuts of coconut, while corrupted officials, businessmen and drug lords, rule the Same. A saddened honest police officer stands against the social injustice and corruptions, hoping to create a just and fair society for the sake of Good Governance, but in trouble as the Mafia want him dead or silence forever. Then the poor girl in prison decides, that it is their duty to challenge the existing system…..
Produced by Samanmali Hewamanne, the film is scripted by Bennett Rathnayake and Chulabaya Shantha Kumara Herath. It stars Bimal Jayakody, Sangeetha Weeraratha , Lucky Dias,Buddhadasa Withanachchi, Kumara Thirimadura, Dulika Marapana, Udari Warnakulasooriya, , Udara Rathnayake, Gihan Fernando, Ferni Roshinie, Jayani Senanayake, Adam Adamali, Buddhika Jayarthna, Darshan Dharmaraj, Isuru Lokuhettiarachchi, Uditha Gunarathna, Crystal Imera, Teena Shanell, Nethali Nanayakkara, Aruni Mendis, Ajith Lokuge, Lasantha Fansiz, Malkanthi Jayasinghe, Sathya Rathnayake and Dinusha Rajapaksha. Nimeshika Aan is introduced to cinema with ‘Nobody Knows’.
