Horizon Campus signs MOU with OREL Corporation
View(s):Leading higher education institute Horizon Campus recently partnered with the company behind some of the country’s most recognized lighting brands,OREL Corporation, to initiate an industry-academic collaboration with the aim of fostering and nurturing students in the areas of entrepreneurship and innovation . This partnership was established through Electronic and Robotic division of OREL Corporation which provide Engineering equipment software and solutions being the sole authorized distributor of NI, Quanser and Academic partner in Sri Lanka for Lucas Nulle.
The MoU was signed between the CEO of Horizon Campus ,Mr.Ajitha Wanasinghe, and Mr.Chaminda De Silva, General Manager, Business Development, OREL Corporation, in the presence of the Chairman of Horizon Campus, Mr.Upul Daranagama.
The partnership will entail in OREL Corporation offering internship and training opportunities for undergraduates of Horizon Campus as well as offering career scopes within the organization. Additionally OREL will also provide industry inputs for Course and Curriculum Development,support students on field visits and assignment work and engage with the academic panel of Horizon Campus to collaborate and foster a constructive knowledge exchanging approach to conduct research initiatives,that combine the best of academic thinking with the expertise of industry.
The MoU benefits the institute through the support and provision of valuable experience for students in working in real business situations and in being trained on gaining an entrepreneurial mindset , whilst OREL Corporation will gain valued insights from academics through their research collaborations.In this context, the partnership will provide both parties networking opportunities, pathways to learn and the ability to work together in producing an innovative and talented workforce for the industry.
