Developed to put legal business practices into the context of the global marketplace, giving students the knowledge and skills to work effectively within both local and international corporations, the LLM Masters in Commercial Law offered by Bristol Institute in partnership with the University of the West of England, Bristol (UWE Bristol), recently completed it’s first successful intake in Sri Lanka with a large number of aspiring lawyers joining the program.

The interest garnered for the program stems from the degree being a first-of-its-kind that offers a specialist pathway for in depth study in law relating to the current business scenarios, that is designed to groom a new breed of legal practitioners who will be well equipped to take on the legal challenges that many organizations would face in the ‘New Normal”.

The course is action-oriented and focuses on law, business transactions and operational skills, so that students acquire the technical and interdisciplinary training that helps them become leaders in the legal services sector.

The 1 year program serving as a quick return on investment , encompasses a broad, contextual and critical understanding of the area of Commercial Law and also covering the operation of judicial, legislative and administrative action in relevant domestic, European and International contexts.

The degree is designed by the University of the West of England, Bristol (UWE Bristol),and is taught by a combination of top industry professionals who are both former and current practitioners, as well as research and teaching academics who are focused on delivering practical know -how of the legal practice, rather than theory based knowledge .
