JAT Holdings ‘official overseas team sponsor’ of Sri Lanka cricket
JAT Holdings, a homegrown wood-coating industry, came on board to become Sri Lanka cricket team’s ‘official overseas team sponsor’ until May 2021.
JAT Holdings’ sponsorship continues with Sri Lanka’s ongoing tour to West Indies and have already sponsored the recently ended tour to South Africa and the home series against England earlier this year. JAT Holdings will continue their commitment with the upcoming Bangladesh series.
In spite of the economy downfall occurred due to the pandemic, where many organisations are stepping backward in sport sponsorships, JAT Holdings has the courage to protect Sri Lanka’s cricket legacy.
“We are extremely honoured, as a privately owned Sri Lankan company, to be the official overseas team sponsor of Sri Lanka Cricket and this has given all of us at JAT a feeling of great pride and we wish the team every success in their upcoming series. JAT Holdings constantly seeks for channels to give back to our community, and sport has always been an area of focus. This was even more evident when JAT became the only Sri Lankan company to sponsor the Kandy Tuskers cricket team at the LPL 2020,” Aelian Gunawardene, the Managing Director of JAT Holdings said.
Showing the major involvement in sports, JAT Holdings became part of Lanka Premier League (LPL), becoming the only Sri Lankan company to partner Kandy Tuskers in addition to sponsoring the Australia tour in 2017, Bangladesh BPL and many other tours.
“I’m happy that JAT Holdings, a local and privately owned brand, has partnered with us to strengthen Sri Lanka Cricket during Sri Lanka’s tour of South Africa, home series against England, the ongoing tour of West Indies and the upcoming Bangladesh tour. Cricket is all about partnerships and I’m sure this association will grow and develop, and that JAT will take this opportunity to harness their brand to become a global giant,” Ashley de Silva, CEO of SLC said.
Sri Lanka’s tour to West Indies includes three Twenty20s, three ODIs and two Test matches.
