Army overall champs at Rowing Nationals
Sri Lanka Army dominated the 36th Senior and Intermediate Rowing Nationals 2021 concluded at the Diyawanna Rowing Centre in Koswatte yesterday. The men and women of Army claimed the championship in Open Men, Open Women and Intermediate Men with the most number of gold medals to emerge the overall champions of the two-day competition. The Senior and International Rowing Nationals 2021 was held under strict health regulations and guidelines issued by the officials, with the participation of over 150 athletes representing eight institutions. Oarsmen and oarswomen representing overall winners Sri Lanka Army, Sri Lanka Navy, Sri Lanka Air Force, Kothalawala Defence University, University of Colombo, University of Moratuwa, Colombo Rowing Club and Bolgoda Lake Rowing Club participated. Sri Lanka Telecom-Mobitel sponsored the 36th Rowing Nationals, which will be followed by the Junior Nationals separately on a later date – Pic by M.D. Nissanka
