2nd Sri Lanka Youth Chess GP comes to an end
View(s):The Chess Federation of Sri Lanka has decided to hold the 2nd Sri Lanka National Under-14 years Chess Grand Prix will end today, March 21, at CFSL HQ in Nugegoda.
This is one of the leading Chess Events in Sri Lanka for the Youth Chess players in the country where only 12 top youth Chess players participated in the Round Robin system.
The Chess Federation of Sri Lanka is offering cash awards of RS. 55,000/= , Medals and Trophies for the winners.
All games were live broadcasted and the final is expected to attract more viewers.
Chess players with the following performance were eligible, while CFSL also welcomed international players who were under 14 years of age by January 1, 2021.
All national team players, Top 8 players in the Sri Lanka National Youth (U-13) Chess Championship 2019, Top 3 Players of the CFSL Youth (U014) Championship 2021, Top 3 players in the Sri Lanka National Youth (U-13 Girls) Chess Championship 2019, Top 3 players in the Sri Lanka National Youth (U-11) Chess Championship 2019, champion of the Sri Lanka National Youth (U-11 Girls) Championship 2019, Top 3 players of National Amateur Chess Championship 2019, Top 3 players in Junior National Chess Championship 2019, ten players according to the latest International Rating List below 14 years but above 160 and two players with the highest performance from the International Rating Chess Tournaments held so far were among the eligible players for the upcoming competition.
CFSL also opened the doors to those who were interested to obtain wild card entries with their FIDE ID, Highest rating achieved ever, and performances to declare.
