102nd birth anniversary of Lester

The 102nd birth anniversary of Sri Lanka’s great filmmaker Dr. Lester James Peiris was marked on Monday April 5 with a Thanksgiving Mass at the Holy Family Convent chapel in Bambalapitiya. Filmmaker and Dr. Lester’s widow Sumithra and a number of well-known actors and actresses attended the Mass which was presided over by Rev. Fr. Lal Pushpadeva, head of the OCIC (Catholic Organization for Cinema and Audiovisual) and president of SIGNIS Sri Lanka.
