National exams postponed by nearly a month
View(s):The Education Ministry has announced the dates of the national exams for school children that will be held this year.
Due to the time lost because of the COVID-19 pandemic in the country, all exams will be postponed by nearly a month so that syllabuses can be completed this year, Education Minister G.L. Peiris said.
Accordingly the grade five scholarship exam will be held on October 3, 2021.
The A/L exams scheduled annually in August , will be held from October 4 until the end of the month. The O/L exams have also been postponed from December 2021 to January 2022. These exams are likely to be held in the first week next year.
Meanwhile the examination department said the marking of exam papers have been completed and results will be released before the end of this month.
