Kotagana Tamil school receives donation for children’s park
View(s):The Rotary Club of Flemington-Kensington of Australia recently donated children’s playground equipment worth Rs 5,000,000 to the Kotagana Tamil school at Rangala in the Reldeniya Educational Zone.
The Rotary club of Colombo and the Rotary Metropolitan of Kandy, worked hand in hand to make this happen. The initiative been taken by Colombo Rotary Club President Nihi Murugesu and Kandy Metropolitan Club President Timothy Paldano.
The school is situated at Rangala around three kilometers away from the Rangala town and is only accessible by three wheelers. There are 134 students in the English and Tamil medium classes.
The occasion was attended by the Zonal Director H. Kumarihamy. There was a variety show organised by the school as a part of the event, and certificates and prizes were also awarded to children for various activities.
A donation of a violin was also made by the Kandy Meropolitan Rotary Club through the beneficiary Shalen Wickramasinghe
Among those present were Rotarians Joe Paiva, Frediee Seneviratne, Teenzie Nanayakkara, Vim Paldano, W. Witanage , Nithi Murugesan and Sebastian Reith.
