Chathura’s ‘One Blood’ at Pune Short Film festival

Young filmmaker and script writer Chathura Vimarsha’s “One Blood “ has been selected for the 11th Pune Short Film Festival 2021 to be held at Maharashtra in India.
The film stars Shyam Fernando, Charindra Chandrasena and Chaviru Perera
Behind the camera director of photography is Sachith Buddhika Manamperi and Vimukthi Solanga Arachchi, editor and colorist is Vimukthi Solanga Arachchi, production designer is Kasun Rajeewa and music is by Hansa Fernando.
Sound design and foley by Thanushka Sanjaya Kahandawala, make up by Lakshika Sankalpa Jayakody, assistant director Malindu Kavinda Kumarasinghe, production manager-Sashika Anushan Munasinghe, theme vocalist is Dinalie Liyanage, gaffers- Shirly Shiron, assitant directors Tishan Sandaruwan Dewanarayana and Chamidu Munasinghe and production supervisor is Prabhath Agampodi.
Encouraging the aspiring and upcoming independent filmmakers, Pune Short Film Festival initiated this short film Festival, focusing on creating opportunities for tomorrow’s filmmakers.

The festival selects a number of awards including the Best Film, the Best International Film, the Best Student Film, the Best Director, Best Screenplay, the Best Camera Work, the Best Editing, the Best Sound, the Best Animation Film, the Best Original Score, the Best Documentary Filmand the Best Experimental Film.
The films could be Documentary, Experimental, Narrative, Fiction, Non – fiction or Animation and they should be completed after January 2010.
Winners of the festival are selected by a judging panel of industry professionals consisting of independent producers, production companies, filmmakers, and other film industry professionals who may be substituted at the discretion of the Festival organizers.
Earlier Shyam Fernando won the Best Actor Award at the 1st Hollywood Venus Awards short film festival for his role in ‘One Blood’.
The film was also selected for several international film festivals including the Liftoff London Film Festival in 2019 and the film reached one of the final 50 films out of over 1000 films.
Chathura, an Image Art BA honours graduate from Kelaniya University was a consultant lecturer at the National Innovation Centre of the National Institute of Business Management (NIBM) and presently he is an Assistant Lecturer at the Fine Arts Department of the Kelaniya University.
