Rule-Breakers – Yet Another Unique Initiative by Speak
Our kids are what they read, observe and hear. Hence, we adults have the grave responsibility to ensure that they have access to the right materials that can positively transform their personalities.
At Speak we recognized the importance of creating such active learning spaces for kids to learn from those individuals, who can make a positive impression in their lives, and inspire them to pursue meaningful pathways;
To achieve this objective we are introducing a ground breaking programme called ‘Rule Breakers – Stories Beyond Classrooms’; this is a series of live-cast sessions, which creates opportunities for kids to interact with inspirational personalities, discuss and learn from their successes, failures and experiences; Consequently this show will also help parents understand the myriad of opportunities that lay ahead of kids who dare to be creative; who dare to choose the unconventional paths; who dare to stand out than merely fit in.
The first guest of ‘Rule Breakers’ is Hirah Isthiquar, a very young poet, and a passionate little environmentalist and a humanist who has set out to save this world from turning into black and white. The first ‘Rule-Breakers’ pod cast will be live cast on the 11th of July from the official facebook page of Speak (@speaksrilanka) from 8pm to 8.40pm. Her book campaign was launched to mark world environmental day. She joined in for a good cause as it was her prime intention to create awareness about various issues in society, especially environmental destruction and discrimination. She wants to contribute to the world as per her capacity, thus she plans to contribute to fruit tree planting campaigns in orphanages/special need children homes in Sri Lanka, through her book sales.

She says “I wrote this book because I have seen pollution, destruction, and lack of humanity in this small country and that made me wonder how much destruction is present all over the world. So, I wanted to create awareness. We have decided to spend 50% of the income for a good cause. This world is full of colours. If we do not help, it will soon turn into Black and White.”
Speak is a communication and leadership academy that provides public speaking courses to kids from the ages of 6 to 15. These courses are designed to inculcate the fundamental skills of articulation and boost self-confidence and self-esteem, which are the foundations of a great personality. Since its inception in 2017 nearly thousand kids have graduated from the level 1 and level 2 public speaking programmes offered by Speak.
The new live cast series – Rule-Breakers – is yet another unique initiative by Speak, which focuses on transforming personalities by enlightening both kids and parents on the true potential of creativity and pursuing meaningful passions. We strongly believe that ‘Rule-Breakers’ will create a courageously creative young generation who will be able to one day narrate their own success stories beyond classrooms.
