LAUGFS Rubber launches Sri Lanka’s largest tyre
View(s):LAUGFS Corporation (Rubber) Ltd. (LAUGFS Rubber) recently unveiled the latest addition to its product portfolio with the 23.5 – 25 LOADER GRIP tyres, the largest tyre size (weight – 1100KG) to be manufactured in Sri Lanka.
Designed for extreme off the road applications, the “23.5 – 25 LOADER GRIP” facilitates high loading capability for loader trucks, dumpers, earth movers in construction and mining areas, waste handling sites and other tough applications. The tyre is manufactured to provide high resistance against cuts, chunking and chipping on off the road terrains with highest load bearing capability and longer endurance, according to a company statement.
“Even in the global arena, only a handful of companies manufactures 23.5 – 25 sizes, as the manufacturing process requires impeccable precision, robust technological innovation and design knowledge along with a hi-tech and heavy equipment set up. The fact that LAUGFS Rubber was able to successfully manufacture this type of high-tech product is a testament to our superior technological expertise and manufacturing capability. Moreover, this is yet another step in the direction of leveraging on one of Sri Lanka’s key resources – natural rubber,” said LAUGFS Rubber Chief CEO Thomas Antony.
The 23.5 – 25 loader grip tyre comes with self- cleaning wide lug tread pattern and aperture sidewalls. Moreover, the tyre provides excellent traction and grip along with greater lifespan, which makes it well-suited for loader/grader applications. The statement said users can expect outstanding performance from the tyres they purchase with zero maintenance, given the robust design complemented by superior compounds and construction. The symmetrical tyre tread patterns deliver smooth driving, high directional stability, and low rolling resistance. The tyre is available in smooth tread for specific applications. Customers can also purchase the tires with wheels as an assembly.
The company said that identifying the business potential in the profitable rubber industry, LAUGFS Holdings diversified into the rubber industry through LAUGFS Corporation (Rubber) Ltd in 2008 with a special focus on industrial solid tyres.
At present, LAUGFS Rubber exports tyres to customers in over 36 countries, including those in the US and Europe. The company has a state-of-the-art, environmentally friendly manufacturing facility, which generates 40 percent of its energy requirement through solar panels.
