On Friday, Members of the Ceylon Teachers Union and other education unions held a protest in Nuwara Eliya. They demanded the Government to withdraw the proposed Kotelawala National Defence University (KNDU) Bill and release the arrested trade union activists. Similar protests were held in other areas.
